What the day looks like
You're picked up at your hotel in the morning and head south in a 4×4 with a driver-guide. First the Mini Sahara: pale sand dunes dropping straight into the Atlantic around Timlaline, with time to walk the ridges, try sandboarding and take the photos everyone back home won't believe are an hour from Agadir. Then the Souss-Massa National Park: a protected stretch of river mouth, dunes and steppe that shelters gazelles, ostriches and — with luck — the bald ibis, one of the rarest birds on earth, plus flamingos at the estuary in season. Lunch is included before the run back.
The animals, honestly
Souss-Massa is a real national park, not a zoo: animals are wild and sightings depend on the day. Gazelles and ostriches are the usuals; the northern bald ibis — the park's emblem, saved from extinction here — is often seen near the cliffs; flamingos gather at the estuary when the water is right. Your driver-guide knows where they were seen the day before, which is exactly why going with someone who works the park weekly matters.
Who this safari is for
Families with kids who want animals and dunes in one day, couples who want the 'Morocco beyond the pool' day without a 3-day Sahara trek, and photographers. If you want the towering deep-desert dunes instead, that's a 2-3 day Sahara tour — a different trip, and I'll happily point you to it.
FAQ
€65 per person, all inclusive — 4×4 with driver-guide, hotel pick-up, Mini Sahara, Souss-Massa National Park and lunch. The price runs with a minimum of 4 people per vehicle.
Gazelles and ostriches are the regulars; the bald ibis, one of the world's rarest birds, lives on the park's cliffs; flamingos appear at the estuary in season. They're wild animals, so sightings vary — your guide checks the latest spots before each trip.
The €65 price needs a minimum of 4 people per 4×4. If you're two, message me your dates on WhatsApp: I often join couples and pairs together so everyone gets the safari at the same price.
Yes — kids love the dunes and the animals, and the 4×4 is comfortable and safe. Just bring hats, suncream and a light layer for the ocean breeze.
